Enviro-Clean operate a fleet of RSP ESE Suction Excavators manufactured in Germany. RSP are recognised as being the leaders in developing suction excavation technology.
Our suction Excavators are available for use all over the United Kingdom for the non-mechanical, non-destructive process of safely excavating and exposing buried utilities. The use of Suction Excavation techniques provides an abundance of benefits to our clients. Firstly, this technique enables operatives to remain on the surface and out of the excavation. As well as minimising confined space working for operatives, it removes any potential for them to come into contact with live infrastructure or apparatus. Using Suction Excavation, we are able to minimise risk to Health & Safety on site. This added protection also prevents damage claims from being received from Asset owners that could have been accidentally or carelessly struck during traditional excavation.
Our Suction Excavators work by using triple fans to create high volume suction power up to 55,000Pa. Our operatives loosen the material to be excavated with an air lance fed via compressor. The remote-controlled boom arm of the Suction Excavator is then used to manoeuvre the air intake suction nozzle to the desired location and begin recovery of the spoil material. The boom arm extends up to 6m in length through a 180-degree arc and we can easily recover granular material up to 250mm in diameter as well as mud and liquids. The Suction Excavator can hold 10m3 of waste in its specialised tank ready for removal or re-use as backfill. This waste material is screened and filtered out of the vacuumed air by the use of micromesh filters with purified air discharged from the top of the unit. We pair our Suction Excavators with a remote controlled Brokk robot to access areas that have weight or height constraints e.g. on top of water tanks or under buzz bars in substations. The Brokk robot manoeuvres the air intake suction nozzle and ensures the power of the Vac-Ex is delivered where it needs to be.
In these times and given the risks for operatives, the use of Suction excavation should be considered as the first choice over traditional mechanical or hand digging methods in all instances. We have achieved excellent results for numerous clients across various sectors and are confident that if you need to excavate, we will be able to help you do it safer.
