Our Managing Director Jim established Enviro-Clean in 1997 in the heart of East Kilbride. Beginning as a Trainee at IMP, Jim worked alongside his peers carrying out repairs on the company vehicles, increasing his knowledge in a field he took a great interest in and as a result, became a plant mechanic for the company.
While repairing many trucks throughout his career and knowing his trade extremely well, Jim had the idea of creating a truck that moved and performed more efficiently, surpassing the standard expectations of trucks of that time, and with the expertise behind him, he purchased his first Whale Tanker – which registration he still remembers. Jim carried out a full upgrade, installing new pumps to ensure the vehicle ran smoothly and effectively, as Jim first imagined. From here, the first Enviro-Clean truck was sent out to work; First customer being world-renowned Coca-Cola, and since then the company has grown significantly, thanks to Jims innovative thinking, belief and dedication.
Since 1997, Jim is now one of the biggest private employers within East Kilbride, passionate in creating career opportunities for the younger generation, the same way he began his career, but also to support all employees who work for Enviro-Clean. Many staff within Enviro-Clean have been with the company from the beginning and have progressed in their careers, which Jim mentioned he is extremely proud of.
From one Whale tanker and an ‘idea’- Jims intentions now for Enviro-clean is to supply national UK coverage and become the main provider of drainage solutions. To continue to support local businesses and communities, provide sponsorships and career opportunities is also something Jim wants to continue to deliver, while ensuring we remain innovative and resourceful.
